Ensure Complete Uniformity in Style and Formatting for each of your Client Projects

An eLearning style guide is a reference to ensure you are ‘on-brand’ with a client.

Our eLearning style guide incorporates guidance on:

  • Fonts
  • Colour codes
  • Dot points
  • Images
  • Alignment
  • States
  • Quizzes
  • Voiceover
  • Other miscellaneous considerations
Every client you work for has different requirements.

They each have their own look and feel, which means different fonts, colours, formatting and more.

Whilst using style guides is crucial to creating a solution that is ‘on-brand’ our team have discovered that there is more to consider.

You may receive additional requirements from your client throughout the project. You may think these requests are easy to remember but as the project goes on and more and more requirements are expressed you may find yourself feeling a little overwhelmed (we have been there!). For example, a client may tell you on a phone call to never use photos that show a certain employee. How will you remember that information and if you are working in a team, how will others know?

Our team has worked on a number of projects and it is through this experience that we have gained a deep appreciation for the importance of keeping the project specifications for each client project in one place.

We often found ourselves in situations where one of us had updated formatting to a client project only to realise that another team member had been told by the client to keep the formatting as it is. The style guide was not providing us with a process for remaining consistent and this is how our eLearning style guide evolved.

What Challenges will it Help you Overcome?

Your clients will receive high-quality eLearning solutions that:

  • Are consistent with their brand.
  • Incorporate their requests.
Who is it For?

Freelancers, consultants, in-house teams, project managers or agencies that create eLearning solutions who:

  • Want to deliver solutions that are of high quality.
  • Want a practical and efficient process to ensure they have created a project that is on-brand and consistently meets client requirements.
FAQ

What if my client does not have a style guide?

Create one for them using this template. They will help you heaps if you work with them again and they will be grateful that you went above and beyond for them.

What if my client makes requests that do not align with the style guide?

This will likely happen. People change their minds all the time. Remind them that they previously set the expectation as something else and ask if you should continue as previously requested or adopt this as the expectation moving forward.
